A man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times in his car Wednesday night on East Stockton Boulevard near Power Inn and Calvine roads. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the violence followed an argument that began earlier at a Sam’s Club in Sacramento County and escalated into gunfire once the parties were on the road.
A baby riding in a car seat in the victim’s vehicle was struck by gunfire, but was not injured. The baby’s mother, who was also in the car, was not hit. Investigators say all rounds came from the suspect, who fled the scene and has not been identified.
The shooting has left neighbors near Power Inn and Calvine shaken, particularly because of how close an infant came to being hurt.
