Brutal Attack on Capybara Shocks Brazil: A Social Media Outrage!

A capybara, the world’s largest rodent and a recent internet sensation, became the victim of a shocking and brutal attack in Rio de Janeiro, leading to the arrest of eight individuals, including two minors. Surveillance footage captured the disturbing scene where the beloved creature was beaten with sticks and iron bars in a working-class neighborhood, Ilha do Governador. Police Commissioner Felipe Santoro condemned the attack as an act of extreme cruelty against an innocent animal that posed no threat.

Veterinarian Jeferson Pires, who treated the capybara at the Wildlife Care Center, noted that the animal suffered from serious head trauma and multiple injuries.
