Court documents obtained by KCRA 3 show that a woman fatally shot outside the Panera Bread on Howe Avenue had filed for a restraining order against 22-year-old Rohit Rohit back in May. In that filing, she said the stalking began around September 2025 and grew worse over time, describing deflated tires, a tracking device she believed was installed on her car, and threats that he would shoot himself or anyone she met. Rohit was served with a temporary restraining order on May 19.
Nearly four months later, Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting in that Panera parking lot. Investigators say Rohit waited for the woman, chased her, and shot her multiple times, including a close-range shot to the head. Deputies have described the shooting as isolated, and the investigation remains ongoing.
