In Elk Grove, a bizarre tale of crime unfolded recently when five suspects attempted a burglary in a rather unconventional way. On April 15, one of the culprits posed as a food delivery driver, while another made a move to enter a home from a side door. But their plans quickly unraveled when they realized the residents were actually home. It’s a classic case of thinking on your feet—though their feet were a bit too quick for comfort!

Thanks to the keen eyes of the police and some high-tech Flock cameras, officers tracked down the suspects’ vehicle on Hood-Franklin Road in south Sacramento County. When they searched the car, they struck gold—or rather, found a staggering $80,000 worth of stolen property tied to a previous burglary. Talk about an unwelcome surprise in the trunk!

Now all five suspects are facing multiple charges, proving once again that crime doesn’t pay, especially when you’re caught trying to play delivery driver in the process. It’s safe to say, they won’t be getting any five-star reviews anytime soon!
