A dramatic chain of events unfolded in Solano County when 35-year-old Oscar Garcia-Cerrato allegedly stole a car and led police on two separate high-speed chases. The adventure began near Woolner Avenue and Lawrence Street in Fairfield, where he allegedly snatched a car around 9:24 p.m. Officers quickly honed in on him on Highway 12, but when Garcia-Cerrato decided to drive on the wrong side of the road, they wisely called off the pursuit.
However, this wouldn’t be the end of the story. Suisun City police caught up with him after he rammed one of their patrol vehicles and took off once more, leading them into Napa County. After abandoning the stolen vehicle, Garcia-Cerrato made a run for it on foot, but that attempt was short-lived as officers apprehended him without further incident.
Garcia-Cerrato’s saga raises eyebrows, especially since he was already on probation for attempted robbery. It seems he wanted to add a little excitement to his day, but unfortunately for him, the only thrill he’s likely to experience now is in a jail cell. What’s next, Oscar? Maybe a little less crime and a bit more compliance?
