Lincoln Wings & Wheels Returns for 12 Years of Aviation, Cars, and Community

Every summer, Lincoln Regional Airport transforms into a gathering place for people who live and breathe cars and planes. This weekend marks the 12th year of Wings&Wheels, and it’s shaping up to be a can’t-miss community event. With 70 aircraft, over 200 classic and custom vehicles, and five hot air balloons, there’s plenty to see. But the real draw is the people behind the machines—owners who’ve spent countless hours restoring, customizing, and perfecting their rides, and they’ll be on hand to share their stories.

One car owner is bringing her father’s 1960 classic to showcase, a piece of personal history that’s been in her family for over 60 years. Another enthusiast is displaying the Ford truck that taught him to drive a manual transmission, a vehicle that shaped his driving skills and his passion for trucks. On the aviation side, pilots like 25-year-old Millie Hinson are working to inspire the next generation, particularly encouraging women to consider careers in flying. Admission runs $5 on Friday night and $10 per adult on Saturday, with free entry for anyone 17 and under both days. General parking is free.
