A Sunday walk with the dog turned into something else entirely for James Hidalgo at San Francisco’s Crissy Field. According to reports, a man approached Hidalgo and tried to throw a punch at him. What that man didn’t know was that Hidalgo is a U.S. Marine veteran and a martial arts teacher. Hidalgo pinned him to the ground and held him there until U.S. Park Police arrived and placed the suspect under arrest.
Hidalgo was checked out by paramedics at the scene and says he plans to press charges. His take on the whole thing was short and to the point: the guy ran into the wrong person. The suspect has not been publicly identified.
The wildest part of this story? A KRON-TV news crew was already in the park covering a completely different assignment when their camera captured the brawl as it happened.
