A multi-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 80 in Sacramento is causing significant delays for Tuesday morning commuters. The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert shortly before 5:50 a.m. after the crash, which may involve three vehicles, was reported just west of Madison Avenue. As of 6:20 a.m., the HOV and No. 1 lanes remain blocked, with no estimated time for reopening.

Caltrans traffic cameras are already showing heavy congestion building in the Foothill Farms area, and backups are expected to grow as the morning rush continues. Drivers heading westbound into Sacramento are advised to seek alternate routes, such as surface streets or the Capitol City Freeway, to avoid the delays. The CHP has not released information on any injuries at this time.
