Ostrich on the Loose: A Bird’s-Eye View of a Highway Adventure!

An unexpected highway racer took the spotlight in Thailand this week when a pet ostrich named B1 decided to sprint down the bustling streets of Chonburi province. This six-month-old feathery fugitive bypassed all the cars and trucks, making for quite a memorable scene. Motorist Chairat Sompong caught the whole ordeal on video, highlighting B1’s panicked expressions as it zigzagged down a three-lane highway, leaving onlookers stunned and a bit amused.

Owner Itsara Boriboon had his heart in his throat as he raced to reclaim his runaway pet, who had bolted after being startled by the noise of a delivery truck. Thankfully, B1 was ultimately apprehended around nine miles from home, and Itsara could breathe a sigh of relief. It’s not every day an ostrich takes a detour on the roads, but this little adventure serves as a reminder that even our feathered friends can have a mind of their own—and they can certainly run like the wind!
