Paws for a Cause: Get Ready for the Sacramento Children's Museum's "Dogs with Jobs" Event!

Get your tails wagging because the Sacramento Children’s Museum is back with its seventh annual “Dogs with Jobs” outdoor event! Scheduled for April 11, this free event is expected to have 30 to 40 working dogs from various organizations, including law enforcement canines, therapy dogs, and service dogs, all eager to meet their admirers. With a start time of 11 a.m., it’s going to be a busy day filled with tail wags and happy barks.

Deputy Director Meghan Toland is excited to offer families the chance to interact with these remarkable dogs. “All of the dogs are available for you to meet and pet and ask questions to their handlers,” she said. Kids can also enjoy dog-themed crafts and activities while soaking in the furry love surrounding them. This event stems from Toland’s passion for dogs and her desire to showcase the essential roles they play in our lives.

Among the organizations featured are Canine Companions and Capital Therapy Dogs. Canine Companions, known for providing trained service dogs to individuals in need, will bring several of these incredible pups, while Capital Therapy Dogs will host activities designed to connect youths with their furry friends. With stickers for meeting a dog, crafts, and engaging conversations with handlers, this event promises to be an unforgettable day for animal lovers and families alike. Don’t miss out on the chance to experience all this paw-some goodness!
