Stockton Man Arrested in Reno With Fentanyl Enough for 236,000 Lethal Doses

A major drug bust in Reno has ties back to the Sacramento region. Jimmie Parker, 49, of Stockton, was arrested after a months-long investigation by the Northern Nevada Drug Task Force. Authorities say Parker was selling fentanyl in the Reno and Sparks area, and when they finally took him into custody at a hotel and casino, they found him holding $20,000 in cash and 39 ecstasy pills.

The follow-up searches of his car and home revealed the real scale of the operation: over a pound of fentanyl. To put that in perspective, officials say that amount is enough for 236,000 lethal doses. The seizure also included 148 grams of methamphetamine, 536 grams of marijuana, and 12 grams of cocaine. A second person, Sabrina Lucio, 39, was arrested with Parker and is facing charges after being found with a gun and more than a gram of fentanyl.

Parker’s bail is set at $2,050,000, a figure that underscores the severity of the charges.
