Style Elements Crew has been part of Stockton’s story for 32 years, and this weekend the hip-hop dance group is celebrating by bringing 250 competitors to town for two days of dance battles, live DJs, panel discussions, and masterclass workshops. The action runs Friday at the San Joaquin Fairgrounds and Saturday at the Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium, with doors open 1 to 10 p.m. both days.

Crew member Donnie Counts, known as B-Boy Crumbs, says the best dancers from around the world are making the trip, and the crew itself has competed internationally over the decades. Visit Stockton CEO Robyn Camino expects a strong economic ripple, with visitors from the Bay Area, Los Angeles, other states, and other countries booking local hotels and restaurants.

Tickets are available online, and with this much out-of-town interest, grabbing them early is smart. Whether you’re a dancer, a fan, or just curious about the culture that came out of the 209, this is a rare chance to see it all in one weekend. Will you be at the Civic Auditorium on Saturday?
