As the days grow longer and the sun warms up Sacramento, music lovers are preparing for an exciting summer filled with sounds from the 33rd annual Concerts in the Park. The Sacramento Downtown Partnership has announced an eclectic lineup that promises to cater to a variety of musical tastes. Headlining the series will be the beloved Australian indie rock band Temper Trap, along with popular hip-hop artist Kid Ink taking center stage on Juneteenth night. Of course, our very own Arden Park Roots will bring homegrown talent to the festivities.
This year’s event has a fresh twist, introducing Latin and Juneteenth nights to celebrate diverse cultures within the community. Concerts will occur every Friday for nine weeks, culminating on June 26 in beautiful Cesar Chavez Park. Amelia Chew, the Events Manager of the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, highlighted the value of diversity in the lineup, capturing a wide array of genres that include reggae, alt-rock, EDM, and hip-hop.
Rosemother, a local six-member dream pop band, also joining the lineup, expressed their excitement to share their music as part of this cherished local tradition.
