Carly Pearce Gets Honest About the Show She Wishes She'd Cancelled and the Duet She Regrets

Carly Pearce has never been shy about telling her own story, and she added another chapter this week during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. The country star opened up about a 2021 stop on her 29 Tour in Washington, D.C., where she admits she drank too much before hitting the stage. She says she knew in the moment it wasn’t good, but she performed anyway. Looking back, it’s the one show she wishes she had cancelled.

That wasn’t the only honest moment. Pearce also said she regrets releasing“Finish Your Sentences,”the duet she recorded with then-husband Michael Ray in 2020. The couple divorced after eight months of marriage, and Pearce says the song simply didn’t age well once the relationship was over.

These days, Pearce is focused on what’s ahead. Her fifth album,“Honest Woman,”arrived Aug. 28, and starting Sept. 10 she’s taking the stage in smaller venues, trading packed arenas for intimate rooms where she can really connect with the crowd. It’s a fitting next step for an artist whose greatest strength has always been her honesty.
