Stella Parton appeared on CBS Mornings Thursday and shared the final request her sister Dolly made of her. The two talked every Tuesday morning over coffee, and Stella said the last thing Dolly ever asked for was prayer. Not a song, not a deal. Prayer.“That’s the last thing Dolly asked me for, was prayer,”Stella told Gayle King.

Stella also opened up about Dolly’s work ethic, saying her sister worked constantly and didn’t prioritize her health the way she should have. Some family members didn’t know Dolly was battling cancer before she died on August 25 at age 80. The family has chosen not to disclose the type of cancer, and Stella explained why she’s honoring that boundary:“That was her business. She didn’t tell us that we could say it, so out of respect for her, I can talk about my love for her.”

Since Dolly’s passing, Stella has also spoken out against AI-generated misinformation about her sister spreading online, calling it disrespectful to Dolly’s memory. The family has asked for prayer and privacy during this time.
