Harper Grace has a brand new single out called“Underneath the Harvest Moon,”and it’s already turning heads. The song, released to country radio on July 10, has a chorus line that mentions being in a“knockin’-boots kinda mood.”It didn’t take long for listeners to read into it. But Grace is here to clear things up: she’s talking about a two-step on a hardwood floor, nothing more. She wrote the song back in 2021 when she was just 21 years old, and she admits she had no idea the phrase had another meaning. She genuinely thought it referred to people knocking their boots together while spinning around on the dance floor.

The track was recorded at Nashville’s Blackbird Studios with producers Cameron Jaymes and Ben West. It blends country with R&B-inspired seventh chords and a smooth yacht-rock feel that gives it a laid-back, easy vibe. Grace says her first session at Blackbird was a bit chaotic, so she ended up recording her vocals in a more private setting. The song sat finished for five years before getting its release this summer, and with the harvest moon coming on September 26, the timing feels just about perfect.
