Joybeth Taylor has extended her global publishing agreement with Sony Music Publishing Nashville and Verse 2 Music, and she’s adding TAYCAN Entertainment as a creative partner. Taylor co-wrote Ella Langley’s“Choosin’Texas,”which spent 21 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is still holding the top spot on the Hot Country Songs chart in its 39th week.
The timing couldn’t be better. Taylor just earned her first CMA Awards nomination for song of the year as a writer on“Choosin’Texas,”and she currently ranks No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Songwriters chart and No. 7 on the all-genre Hot 100 Songwriters chart. Beyond Langley, her credits include cuts with Morgan Wallen, Hudson Westbrook, Chase Matthew, Corey Kent, Jordan Davis and Kane Brown. In a statement, Taylor said extending with Sony and Verse 2 while adding TAYCAN is“a dream come true,”adding that she couldn’t ask for a better team championing her songs.
For country fans, this deal is a sign that one of the format’s most in-demand young writers is getting major industry backing behind her.
