Mack Geiger was studying to become a paramedic and working part-time on a cattle ranch in Queensland, Australia, when he wrote a song called“String By”at his kitchen table. Released in October 2025, that song carried him all the way to the Billboard Hot 100, and it’s currently sitting at No. 48 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. Not bad for a guy who was axe-chopping timber and doing weed control not long ago.
The momentum hasn’t slowed down. Geiger signed with RECORDS Nashville/Columbia Records earlier this year, made his Grand Ole Opry debut, played CMA Fest and Australia’s CMC Rocks, and wrapped his first U.S. headline tour. He’s now in the studio with producer Keith Stegall, the man behind so much of Alan Jackson’s classic sound, which suggests Geiger’s neo-traditionalist instincts are here to stay.
