Megan Moroney just hit a milestone that underscores how fast her rise through country music has been. On Friday night (May 29), the artist who’s been building momentum since her debut just three years ago took her first arena headlining tour to the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio — and it sold out.

The show marked another full-circle moment for an artist who’s quietly become one of the genre’s most consistent hit-makers. Her third album, Cloud 9, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 all-genre albums chart in March, making it the first country album by a woman to reach that spot since Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter in April 2024. That achievement alone put her in rare company — only the 10th woman this century to top the chart with a country album. Then came nine nominations for the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards, the most any single artist received that year.

The Columbus setlist leaned heavily into Cloud 9, pulling 15 of 23 songs from the record. That makes sense for a debut arena tour: ride the wave of your biggest album while proving you’ve got the depth to hold a room for a full night. The surprise slot brought“Hair Salon,”a fan favorite from her 2022 EP Pistol Made of Roses — a smart move that reminded the crowd she’s got catalog beyond the latest cycle.

Visually, Moroney doubled down on a thematic approach that’s become part of her live identity. Where her 2025 Am I Okay tour kept everything in shades of blue, this tour wrapped itself entirely in pink — think sparkly short onesies with silver fringe, delicate sheer gowns studded with appliques. It’s the kind of detail that turns a show into an experience you remember, the kind of intentionality that separates arena tours from club runs.

From here, the Cloud 9 tour rolls through Indianapolis on Saturday (May 30) and then two sold-out nights at Chicago’s United Center before wrapping the U.S. leg at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on August 21-22. Then it heads overseas. For an artist who was building her fanbase in smaller venues just a couple of years ago, that overseas leg feels like the natural next chapter. Moroney’s not just headlining arenas now — she’s outgrown them in some markets.
