Taylor Swift Scores First CMA Nomination in Four Years With "I Knew It, I Knew You"

Taylor Swift is back on the CMA Awards ballot for the first time in four years. The nomination is Single of the Year for“I Knew It, I Knew You,”her first nod in that category since 2013. She last won a CMA in 2017, when she took Song of the Year as a songwriter on Little Big Town’s“Better Man.”

The song has been on quite a run since it dropped in June on the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. It hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, topped the Hot Country Songs chart, and climbed to No. 8 on Country Airplay, a historic showing for a female artist at country radio.

Swift has been vocal about where all of it began. She’s said she loves her country roots more the further along this path she gets, and that the people who shaped her as an artist and a writer all came from Nashville. She’ll face stiff competition from Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson, and Cody Johnson when the 60th CMA Awards air November 18 on ABC and stream on Disney+.
