A community in Centreville, Virginia is grieving after police found Brandon and Lavinia Brown, both 31, dead from gunshot wounds in their home Wednesday evening. Investigators believe Brandon shot his wife before taking his own life. Their three young children were inside the house at the time but were not physically injured. It was those children who contacted a nearby relative, who then called 911. Officers arrived around 5:30 p.m. and pronounced the couple dead at the scene.
The Browns’children are now staying with extended family, and Fairfax County police say the Major Crimes Bureau and Victim Services are involved as the investigation moves forward. So far, no motive has been released, and authorities have not disclosed any prior history of domestic violence. Autopsies are still pending.
