A wild night recently unfolded at a Chevron gas station on Power Inn Road and Folsom Boulevard in Sacramento, when more than a dozen kids turned what should have been a quick stop for gas into a chaotic scene. Surveillance footage captured the youthful gang flooding the store, wreaking havoc by tossing merchandise from the shelves and tearing through the aisles. The store was no match for the sheer number of enthusiastic young thieves—and it was all caught on camera!
Satish Chandra, the only employee on duty, was understandably at a loss. He called 911 as the mob overwhelmed him, worried that he couldn’t handle the situation alone. Unfortunately, the police were tied up responding to another juvenile-related disturbance nearby, leaving Chandra to contending with the merry mischief-makers. It was a scene that would make anyone’s jaw drop and certainly left the gas station in quite a financial bind.
Shailesh Chand, the store manager, expressed his sadness over the whole ordeal. With a loss of merchandise and plummeting gas sales, he fears this could be the start of a troubling trend. Who would have thought a little pit stop could turn into a scene from a movie, with kids acting like they’re in some sort of snack-crazed heist! Let’s just hope parents check in with their children about after-school activities before they turn a gas station into their playground.
