2026 Emmy Winners: Matthew Rhys Doubles Up, Rhea Seehorn Finally Wins, and the Night's Biggest Surprises

The 2026 Emmy Awards aired Monday night on NBC, and the evening belonged to a mix of Hollywood veterans and one actor who needed both hands for his trophies. Matthew Rhys won twice, taking Lead Actor in a Comedy for Widow’s Bay and Lead Actor in a Limited Series for The Beast in Me. That kind of double win doesn’t come around often.

The top series prizes went to Widow’s Bay for Comedy, The Pitt for Drama, and DTF St. Louis for Limited Series. In the acting categories, Jean Smart won Lead Actress in a Comedy for Hacks, Noah Wyle took Lead Actor in a Drama for The Pitt, and Rhea Seehorn won Lead Actress in a Drama for Pluribus, beating out Zendaya of Euphoria. Her win was one of the most talked-about moments of the night.

Over in the unscripted races, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert won Outstanding Variety Series while The Traitors took Outstanding Reality Competition Program. Mariska Hargitay hosted the ceremony, which streamed and aired live on NBC.
