2026 Emmys: Mariska Hargitay Hosts as The Pitt and Hacks Face Big Competition

The 76th Emmy Awards are here, and Mariska Hargitay is stepping into the host role for the first time. The Law&Order: SVU star is leading the ceremony on NBC and Peacock, honoring the best in television from June 2025 through May 2026.

The drama category is a heavyweight bout. The Pitt won best drama last year, and it’s back defending the title against Pluribus, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and The Diplomat. Over in comedy, two newcomers are shaking things up. Widow’s Bay and Margo’s Got Money Troubles are taking on Hacks, which is in its fifth and final season, along with returning favorite The Bear. Supporting acting Emmys have already gone to Linda Cardellini and David Harbour for DTF St. Louis.
