Alan Ritchson and his wife Catherine have ended their marriage after 20 years together. The Reacher star filed for divorce back in December 2025. Then in March, the couple did something you don’t see every day: they filed an agreed order of reconciliation, and a judge suspended the divorce proceedings for six months so they could try to make it work as husband and wife. It didn’t. The couple announced their split in a joint Instagram statement on Saturday, September 12.
The two were high school sweethearts and married in 2006. They share three sons: Calem, 13, Edan, 12, and Amory, 10. In their statement, they said that after 20 years they’ve decided to continue alongside one another“in a different way,”calling friendship, grace, and becoming the strongest co-parents they can be the best gift they can give each other and their boys right now.
It’s a story plenty of families in our neck of the woods understand. Marriage takes work, and sometimes two people give it everything and it still doesn’t hold. What stands out here is the way they’re choosing to handle the next chapter, with their kids front and center.
