When you’re building your dream home on 110 acres in Lewisboro, New York, sometimes the dream gets a little expensive — and a little complicated. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have finally cleared the air (and the liens) on their sprawling estate project, resolving $2.1 million in contractor debt claims as of May 26. It’s the kind of financial hiccup that only celebrities seem to experience, but it also signals relief for the five contractors and subcontractors who filed mechanics liens back in April after claiming they weren’t getting paid for their work.

The luxury compound has been a labor of love — or maybe a labor of logistics — ever since the couple quietly purchased the land through an LLC back in 2018. During a 2022 planning board hearing, Blake reportedly called the local community“heaven”and expressed that the couple was“desperate to get shovels in the ground.”Well, shovels eventually did go into the ground, and so did years of construction on what’s supposed to be a 14,500-square-foot main home, complete with a pool house, gym, geothermal systems, and other high-end amenities. But somewhere along the way, communication broke down between the Hollywood power couple and the people actually building their vision.

Now that the $2.1 million has been satisfied, construction can resume on what’s become one of the more talked-about residential projects in Westchester County. There’s no word yet on when work will actually pick back up or when Blake and Ryan might finally move into their heaven — but at least the legal obstacles are cleared. For a couple who’s been dreaming about this property for nearly a decade, getting past the financial friction feels like a significant step toward finally making it real. The question now isn’t if it gets built, but when.
