Rock legend Bret Michaels is taking a well-deserved break. The Poison frontman went through a complicated kidney stone surgery and doctors have ordered him to rest for three to four weeks. He was in the middle of his“Live&Amplified”world tour when severe pain hit him during a concert in Spokane on July 18. Even then, he powered through the performance before seeking medical help. The procedure required a ureteral stent, and with his ongoing battle with Type 1 diabetes, recovery needs to be carefully managed.

Bret shared a heartfelt message of gratitude, thanking his medical team, family, band, crew, and fans for their support. Shows from July 30 through August 15 are either canceled or postponed, but he’s expected to return to the stage by late August if everything goes according to plan. It’s a tough pause for a man who lives for performing, but his health comes first.

We’ve seen Bret overcome a lot over the years, from a brain hemorrhage to managing diabetes, and he always comes back swinging. This is just another chapter in his story, and we’re all rooting for him. Have you ever had to put something you love on hold for your health? Share your thoughts with us.
