Brian Hickerson Handcuffed at Greenville Bar as Hayden Panettiere Death Investigation Continues

Brian Hickerson, the ex-boyfriend of the late Hayden Panettiere, was handcuffed outside Wild Wing Cafe in Greenville Saturday night after police responded to an alleged assault call around 9:10 p.m. Video posted online shows Hickerson sitting on the ground in cuffs, shouting that police leaked news when“my girlfriend died.”He was released without charges. His brother Zach was arrested for disorderly conduct and booked into the Greenville County Detention Center.

The incident lands about a month after Panettiere died at a Greenville Airbnb on August 16. Both Hickerson brothers were present at that location that day, and Brian has since met with the DEA as local and federal investigators work to identify anyone who may have sold her drugs. Authorities continue to say the death investigation remains open, with a statement noting it is important to let that process proceed.

Hickerson’s attorney, Sloan Ellis, is reviewing the weekend events. No charges have been filed in connection with Panettiere’s death, and no arrests have been announced in the drug investigation. Greenville has been under a national spotlight since August, and Saturday’s scene added another chapter that many in the community are still trying to process.
