Twenty-three years after“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”aired its final episode, Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz gave fans one more reason to smile. The two walked the 2026 Emmys red carpet together Monday night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, arm in arm, with Gellar in a fuchsia pink dress and Boreanaz in a classic black suit. They went on to present the award for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

The night carried real emotion with it. Before announcing the winner, Gellar acknowledged that it’s been a tough two years for the Buffy cast and crew, saying they feel lucky to have known and worked with such amazing people. The show has lost three of its own in recent years: Michelle Trachtenberg, Nicholas Brendon and Anthony Head. Boreanaz added a light moment too, joking that he always thought Buffy and Angel would end up together, a playful nod to the reboot that was scrapped in March 2026.

For longtime fans, the reunion was about more than a red carpet photo. It was a reminder of Tuesday nights spent watching a show that blended monsters, heartbreak and growing up better than anything else on television. Those seven seasons from 1997 to 2003 shaped a whole generation, and moments like this prove the bond never really fades. Who was your favorite Buffy character, and are you still Team Angel or Team Spike?
