Charlie Sheen Settles $15 Million Child Support Claim for $500K

Sometimes the gap between what you’re owed and what you actually get is measured in millions of dollars. That’s the reality for Brooke Mueller, who walked away from a potential $15 million claim against her ex-husband Charlie Sheen with a settlement worth half a million instead.

The agreement, reached in court docs obtained by TMZ, closes out a messy chapter in their post-divorce relationship. Mueller had argued that Sheen owed her $8,967,600 in back child support, plus another $6,418,643 in accrued interest dating back to July 2011. She claimed the“Two and a Half Men”star was supposed to pay her $55,000 per month beginning in April 2010, but that he began sending partial payments—or stopped paying altogether—starting in mid-2011.

Under the new agreement, Sheen will pay Mueller $500,000 total: $250,000 by Friday, July 11, and the remaining $250,000 by September 1. That payment covers child support arrangements and interest spanning from March 2011 through July 2026. Going forward, each parent will be financially responsible for their kids while in their custody, starting July 1.

The couple, married between 2008 and 2011, share 16-year-old twin sons, Max and Bob. Sheen’s legal team had pushed back hard on the claim, arguing that Mueller had been“in and out of rehab for the past 15 years”while Sheen maintained“100% custody of the kids,”which is why she wasn’t entitled to any child support in their view. That argument clearly didn’t hold up in court—or at least not well enough to avoid settling.

What’s notable here isn’t just the gap between the claim and the settlement, but what it reveals about custody arrangements, financial responsibility, and how these battles typically end in the real world: somewhere between what you ask for and what you actually deserve, both sides claiming partial victory and moving on.
