Chiefs Host Broncos on Monday Night Football: Kelce's First Game Since the Swift Wedding, Mahomes Returns

Monday Night Football returns tonight, and the folks in Kansas City have plenty to cheer about. The Chiefs host the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC. It’s Travis Kelce’s 14th NFL season and his first game since marrying Taylor Swift this summer, so all eyes will be on the stands as much as the field. Swift hasn’t been confirmed for tonight, but she’s been a familiar face at Arrowhead for the past couple of seasons, and if she appears, it would be her first Chiefs game since the July wedding at Madison Square Garden.

The bigger football story might be Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs quarterback returns roughly nine months after tearing his ACL in Week 15 of the 2025 season, and how that knee holds up will shape Kansas City’s entire year. Add a division rival in Denver to the mix, and tonight’s game carries real weight even in September.
