Dave Chappelle is taking his stand-up act to seven arenas across North America this fall, and the whole run starts right here in Tennessee. The tour opens October 20 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, then moves through Charlotte, Toronto, Louisville, Austin, and Houston before closing November 6 at Madison Square Garden, where Chappelle will open the New York Comedy Festival. It caps off a busy stretch that already included a summer arena tour, a three-night Netflix Is a Joke festival run, and a 9/11 charity benefit.

One detail worth knowing before you buy: every show on this tour is phone-free. Your device gets sealed in a Yondr pouch when you walk in, and you get it back on the way out. No photos, no videos, no checking messages mid-set. If you’ve ever sat behind someone filming an entire show on their phone, you already know why that’s a selling point.

Tickets go on sale in waves this week. Citi cardmembers get the first window on September 15, the Live Nation presale follows September 16, and general sale opens September 17 through Ticketmaster. Nashville and Austin are the closest stops for most of us, so those seats are going to move quick. Are you planning to grab tickets, or does the no-phone rule give you pause? Let us know in the comments.
