Just over a week after winning Season 8 of “Love Island USA,” 22-year-old Trinity Tatum has signed with WME, one of the biggest talent agencies in the world. The Newport News, Virginia native went from being a model and makeup artist working at Home Depot with around 4,000 Instagram followers to a star with more than 3 million fans. She and her partner Bryce Alakai Dettloff took home the show’s $100,000 prize on July 12th.
The season also made history. All four women in the final couples were Black, a milestone Tatum called significant for representation. She said she hopes viewers see that Black women can join the series, find love, and truly enjoy the experience. Now, with WME in her corner representing stars from Lupita Nyong’o to BLACKPINK’s Lisa, Trinity is ready for whatever comes next in hosting, acting, or modeling.
It is a classic underdog story, and you have to love seeing somebody’s hard work pay off in a big way. Would you trade your 9-to-5 for a shot on a reality show? Let us know in the comments.
