Harry Styles Ticket Art Draws Fan Backlash Over 9/11 Timing

A ticket for Harry Styles’Sept. 9 concert at Madison Square Garden has artwork on the back showing a yellow car flying over the Empire State Building, with a small trail crossing the spire. The image surfaced two days before the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, and fans on social media did not let it slide. One called the timing“insane,”and another asked flat out who approved the design. Page Six reached out to Styles’representatives for comment.

Context matters here. Styles is in the middle of a 30-night residency at the Garden running from Aug. 26 through Oct. 31, and he’s set to announce his 2027 Together, Together Tour dates on Sept. 10. He’s also engaged to actress Zoë Kravitz. So this is a busy, successful stretch for him, and one piece of ticket art is likely a design oversight rather than anything intentional. Still, New York takes that date seriously, and a quick review at the design stage could have avoided the whole conversation.

For artists and their teams, this is the kind of moment that shapes how merch and ticket art get approved going forward. Big venues, big cities, big anniversaries, somebody has to look at the calendar before the printer runs. What do you think?
