Howard Stern's Wife Beth Says His HBO Max Move Means He Only Works One Day a Week

Howard Stern is taking his show to HBO Max. New episodes will stream every Thursday starting September 17, right after his SiriusXM season returns September 14. But the change that’s getting the most attention isn’t the platform, it’s the schedule. Stern will only do live shows on Mondays now, which means his work week just got a whole lot shorter.

His wife Beth told the Daily Mail that’s the best part of the whole deal. She said he’s only going to start working one day a week, which means more Howard at home and a husband who’s still connected to the world. She called it a win-win for all of them. The move does come with some real changes behind the scenes: about twelve staffers were laid off, his Howard 101 channel was dropped, and Andy Cohen took over that channel. Stern signed a new three-year SiriusXM contract back in December 2025 after his previous five-year, $500 million deal.
