Jalen Brunson spent last season proving he can handle pressure. Now he’s taking on a different kind of live audience. The Knicks guard will host the Season 52 premiere of“Saturday Night Live”on Sept. 26, with girl group Katseye as the musical guest. It comes just months after Brunson led New York to its first NBA championship since 1973.
The run that got him there was full of moments fans won’t soon forget. Brunson scored 38 points in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals after the Knicks fell behind by 22. Then in the Finals, New York erased a 29-point deficit in Game 4, the largest comeback in Finals history. Through it all, Brunson kept that same calm, businesslike demeanor on the court.
Off the court is a different story. His joking friendship with teammate Josh Hart, including a podcast the two host together, has made him a natural fit for comedy. NBC hasn’t announced whether Hart or other Knicks players will appear in the premiere, so fans will have to watch and see. Will you be tuning in on Sept. 26?
