Jenelle Evans Won't Slam the Door on David Eason—For Now

When Jenelle Evans was asked point-blank whether she’d give ex-husband David Eason another shot, she didn’t exactly laugh it off. Instead, the former Teen Mom star gave an answer that tells you everything about where they stand right now—complicated, practical, and surprisingly cordial.

During an Instagram Q&A on Wednesday, June 17, Evans responded to a follower’s suggestion that Eason had changed by being refreshingly honest about the current state of their dynamic. She acknowledged that he’s been helping her out significantly as she prepares for knee surgery next week, and yes, she plans to lean on him for support during her recovery. That’s not the answer you’d expect from someone who filed for separation in March 2024 after six years of marriage, and especially not from someone whose divorce was finalized by a judge in July 2025. Yet here they are.

The 34-year-old Evans, who shares daughter Ensley, 9, with the 37-year-old Eason, has made it clear she’s not interested in rekindling romance—at least not publicly. But she’s also not interested in pretending they’re strangers. Over the past few months, the pair have been spotted together repeatedly: visiting Las Vegas in March to see Ensley, traveling to The Sphere during Easter weekend to catch The Wizard of Oz, and most recently, packing up a U-Haul together before Evans’move from Las Vegas to Florida in late May. Each time, Evans has had to defend the optics, explaining that she’s simply modeling healthy coparenting for her three children—Jace, 16, with Andrew Lewis, and Kaiser, 11, with Nathan Griffin, in addition to Ensley.

What’s interesting here isn’t whether a reconciliation is brewing (Evans insists it isn’t), but what her willingness to engage with Eason reveals about her priorities. She’s made it a point to maintain civility with all her exes, something she’s previously told Us about:“I always strive to have a good relationship with my exes for my children’s sake.”That’s a maturity worth noting, especially given how publicly messy her relationships have played out over the years.
