Jeopardy!'s Teen Tournament Could Be Coming Back After Seven Years

The Jeopardy! Teen Tournament hasn’t been played since 2019, and for a lot of families, that’s felt like a missing piece of the TV calendar. Alex Trebek started that tournament and called it“kind of like my baby.”Now executive producer Michael Davies says the show is committed to bringing it back, though the details are still up in the air. The plan could be a May event in syndication, alternating with a revived College Championship. Davies also wants Kids Week back, which last aired in 2014.

Part of the delay comes down to finding the right home. Davies says networks and streamers have shown interest in a primetime or streaming version, but deals have fallen through. The show has also been focused on building its new postseason tournament format, which pushed the Teen Tournament down the list. Still, Davies says the commitment is real, and the show’s history backs that up. During its heyday, the Teen Tournament pulled some of the highest ratings Jeopardy! ever had.
