John Mulaney's Emmys Speech About Men Had Everybody Talking — Here's What Happened

He quoted DJ Khaled, then pulled out Frank Vincent’s 2006 book, A Guy’s Guide to Being a Man’s Man, and read from it like it was fine literature. The room laughed, and the internet hasn’t stopped since.

The rest of the ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay on NBC, kept the weird coming. Megan Stalter showed up painted head-to-toe in gold body paint, and one award was even presented in High Valyrian, the made-up language from Game of Thrones. Meanwhile, Noah Wyle took home the win for Best Lead Actor in a Drama for The Pitt, which capped off Mulaney’s bit nicely.
