Kennedy Ryan's "Before I Let Go" Is Coming to Peacock as a Series

Kennedy Ryan’s bestselling novel“Before I Let Go”is officially getting the TV treatment. Peacock has ordered a series adaptation of the 2022 romance, which follows separated couple Yasmen and Josiah Wade as they work through the pain that ended their marriage and face the big question: can they really let each other go? Ryan announced development back in 2023, and now the project has the green light.

The team behind the series is stacked. Ryan is co-writing the pilot with filmmaker Malcolm D. Lee, and sisters Tembi and Attica Locke are serving as showrunners and writers. Country fans who love a good family drama might remember the Lockes from Netflix’s“From Scratch,”which they worked on together. John Legend, Debra Martin Chase, and Dominique Telson round out the executive producing team.

“Before I Let Go”is the first book in Ryan’s Skyland series, followed by“This Could Be Us”and“Can’t Get Enough,”so there’s plenty of story to draw from if the show takes off.
