Kim Zolciak, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, is facing nearly $150,000 in alleged unpaid debts across two lawsuits filed this year. Headway Capital sued her in April 2026 over a $75,000 business line of credit for her dissolved company, 8 Busy B’s LLC, seeking $130,634.03 including interest. Then in July, Portfolio Recovery Associates sued over an alleged $16,759.51 credit card balance. According to reports, Zolciak has not responded to either lawsuit, and process servers were unable to reach her at her former Georgia home.
At the same time, her 15-year-old son, Kroy“KJ”Biermann Jr., is facing serious criminal charges. He was arrested August 17 and indicted September 3 on counts including aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and three counts of sexual battery against a child under 16. His attorney, Jason Sheffield, has said his client is“100 percent innocent,”citing a passed polygraph and a GBI report noting no male DNA on or inside the areas the alleged victim described. The defense filed a motion on September 8 to move the case to juvenile court, and a bond hearing is scheduled for Friday, September 11.
These are two very different stories tangled up in one family: a financial mess playing out in civil court, and a criminal case involving a minor that deserves sober attention rather than speculation. We’ll keep following both as they move through the system.
What do you think: should cases involving minors stay in juvenile court, even when the charges are serious?
