KJ Biermann, 15, Granted $200K Bond in Fulton County Felony Case: What the Judge Ordered

Kroy“KJ”Biermann Jr., the 15-year-old son of Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann, was granted a $200,000 bond Friday in Fulton County Superior Court after spending weeks in Atlanta’s Metro Regional Youth Detention Center. He faces seven felony charges stemming from an alleged April 23 encounter with a female classmate at an Alpharetta gym. He’s due for arraignment October 14 and is expected to plead not guilty.

The hearing got heated over evidence. Prosecutors argued against release, saying videos found on his phone showed him with a female family member under 12. Defense attorney Jason Sheffield pushed back, describing a prior juvenile matter as crude behavior between two middle-schoolers with no adjudication for statutory rape. A statement from the alleged victim, read aloud in court, said the thought of his release scares her more than she can put into words.

Judge Melynee Leftridge set strict conditions: home confinement at his mother’s house, virtual school, no social media or cellphone, and no contact with the alleged victim or anyone 16 or under. The case raises hard questions about how juvenile defendants are charged and bonded in serious felony matters.
