Love Island's Kenzie Annis Rushed to Hospital Before NYFW: Inside Her Ovarian Cyst Scare

Kenzie Annis had big plans for New York Fashion Week. The 24-year-old Love Island USA season 8 star and her boyfriend Dylan Wrona were headed to the city for her first big fashion moment. Instead, somewhere over the country on her flight from Los Angeles, an 11 centimeter cyst on her left ovary ruptured. She didn’t know it was there. She had never felt a symptom. By the time the plane landed, she was in an ambulance headed to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Doctors removed the cyst, and Annis was discharged just hours later. Instead of resting, she got dressed and walked into the Alice + Olivia presentation, her first Fashion Week show. It would have been understandable to skip it. She chose to show up, and then she chose to speak up, sharing the whole experience on Instagram to urge women to prioritize their health and pay attention to what their bodies are telling them.

It’s a reminder that serious health issues don’t check your schedule first. An 11 cm cyst doesn’t develop in a week, and Annis never noticed a thing until it burst mid-flight. Regular checkups, even when you feel perfectly fine, are how these things get caught early. She’s recovering now and back with Dylan, and her message is simple: listen to your body and make the call.
