Meg Stalter didn’t just attend the Emmys 2026 red carpet, she became the award. The“Hacks”actress showed up Monday night painted head-to-toe in gold, dressed as a life-sized Emmy statuette complete with wings and a giant golden atom held high. She posed with co-star Paul W. Downs, who wrapped his arms around her gold-painted waist while cameras flashed all around them.
The timing makes it even sweeter. This is Stalter’s first Emmy nomination, in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy category, where she’s up against her own castmate Hannah Einbinder, plus Janelle James, Michelle Pfeiffer and Jessica Williams. It’s also a full 180 from last year, when she went viral for wearing simple Levi’s jeans and a Hanes tee with a“Cease fire!”tote bag on the very same carpet.
Whether she takes home the trophy or not, Stalter already delivered the kind of bold, joyful moment awards shows are supposed to be about. Sometimes the best way to handle a big night is to not take yourself too seriously, and she proved that on national television.
What do you think? Would you ever wear a full gold paint look to a big event, or is that a little too much for you?
