Motley Crue's Return of the Carnival of Sins Tour: 45 Years Strong with Fan-Chosen Setlists and New Production

Motley Crue launched The Return of The Carnival of Sins tour this past weekend, and it’s clear the legendary rock band isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The 33-city trek through North America celebrates both the band’s 45th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the original Carnival of Sins production from 2005-2006. What sets this tour apart is that the band completely rebuilt the show using modern technology, meaning fans who caught the original tour two decades ago will experience something fresh and new, while newer fans get to witness the spectacle that made Carnival of Sins legendary in the first place.

One of the smartest moves Motley Crue made was letting fans vote on which songs get played each night. Rather than simply running through the greatest hits, the band dug deep into their catalog and pulled out deep cuts that haven’t been performed in years. Nikki Sixx explained that they’ve leveraged today’s technology to push the visual production even further than 1985, creating an experience that honors their legacy while moving forward. For collectors and devoted fans, Motley Crue also launched Crue 45 RPM—ultra-limited, hand-numbered 10-inch vinyl releases available exclusively through the Crueseum. The first release features“Looks That Kill”from their 1983 breakthrough album Shout at the Devil, with only 1,000 copies ever produced.“Girls, Girls, Girls”and“Dr. Feelgood”will follow.
