Netflix UK is facing backlash after posting a promotional photo for season two ofThe Gentlemenwith the caption“Nearly did himself a neck injury.”The post went up on September 10, the same day families across the country marked one year since Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Kirk was 31 years old.

Turning Point USA honored the anniversary with a tribute calling it a day that“changed America’s history forever.”Conservatives quickly pointed to the Netflix caption as mocking Kirk’s death. The streaming company responded that the post referenced only a scene from its UK series and called any other interpretation“misguided and unfortunate.”

Kirk’s alleged killer, Tyler Robinson, has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and faces the death penalty if convicted. He is scheduled to appear in court again on October 23.

What do you think? Was that Netflix post a careless mistake or something that deserved more scrutiny? Sound off in the comments.
