Nicole Kidman Says She Was "Beyond Lonely" the Night She Won Her Oscar

In a new interview on the“Therapuss”podcast with Jake Shane, the actress opened up about winning the 2003 Best Actress Oscar for“The Hours,”just two years after her split from Tom Cruise. She went home that night, she said, feeling“beyond lonely.”

Kidman admitted she almost skipped the Vanity Fair party altogether, then forced herself to go, Oscar in hand, and didn’t enjoy it. Somewhere in that whirlwind, a thought hit her:“I’ve got to get a life.”It was a turning point, and a few years later she married country star Keith Urban in 2006. The couple split in September 2025 and finalized their divorce four months later. Kidman has recently been linked to private equity investor Michael Reinstein.
