Noah Kahan's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" Steals the Show at 2026 Emmys In Memoriam

The 2026 Emmys turned emotional Sunday night when Noah Kahan took the stage at Los Angeles’Peacock Theater to sing“Bridge Over Troubled Water”during the In Memoriam segment. With nothing but a guitar, Kahan paid tribute to the stars we lost this year, including Rob Reiner, Sam Neill, Tim Curry, James Van Der Beek, and Catherine O’Hara.

The tributes didn’t stop there. Macaulay Culkin, Annie Murphy, and Dan Levy honored Catherine O’Hara, with Culkin remembering her as the forgetful mother from Home Alone before adding,“we’ll never forget about her.”Jamie Lee Curtis delivered a tearful goodbye to Rob Reiner, calling him“generous and kind and funny as hell and a friend to all.”Sally Field and Reba McEntire also paid tribute to Dolly Parton in a separate segment following her private cancer battle.

For country fans, the night was a reminder that the entertainers we grew up with become part of our families. Kahan’s stripped-back performance proved that sometimes a single voice and a familiar song say more than any speech ever could.
