Pierce Brosnan Says It's Time to Leave His $100 Million Malibu Home After 26 Years

Pierce Brosnan and his wife Keely Shaye Smith have called Malibu home for 26 years. Now, the actor says they’re ready to move on, and the reasons have nothing to do with money. Wildfires have come dangerously close more than once, including the January 2025 Palisades Fire that burned over 23,000 acres and destroyed thousands of structures. Their home survived, but a 2015 fire caused about $1 million in damage. Add in living on an earthquake fault and a long drive to town, and the worry has added up.

Brosnan, 73, put it simply. Living by the water on a fault in earthquake country creates a fear, and after being spared by fires a few times, he feels it’s time to go. The couple also admitted they’ve grown somewhat reclusive out there, keeping a small circle of friends. Their Malibu chapter has been a long and good one, but even good chapters end.

The home is reportedly worth around $100 million, so this is no small decision. Brosnan and Smith married in 2001 and have built decades of memories in that house.
