Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are settling into a new school this week after Harry and Meghan pulled them from their previous one just two days into the term. The reason wasn’t the teachers or the classroom, according to a rep for the couple. It came down to security and the practical reality of the daily commute. Heavy traffic was straining the family’s small security team, and keeping security vehicles together in a convoy during the school run proved impractical.

The decision, the rep said, followed discussions with the family’s security team about how their current arrangements actually work. The rep also thanked the staff at the former school and made clear the move is not a reflection on them or the care the children received. A source close to the family added that they adored the school and genuinely wanted to make it work, but the team simply couldn’t make the school run operationally secure.

By Monday, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, were enrolled nearby, with Harry spotted with Lilibet in the reception area. It’s a reminder that even for a family with every resource imaginable, safety and a normal school day can pull in opposite directions. What would you do if you were in their shoes? Sound off in the comments.
